BROOKLYN'S IN THE HOUSE!! As always... we come with a little something extra. String Thing Studio will be joining with the other Brooklyn LYS's: Argyle, Brooklyn General and Woolyn, to host a KAL featuring a pattern by wonderful designer Lavanya Patricella. The pattern is called BK ALL DAY SHAWL. Every week throughout the Summer there will be a meet up at each shop on a rotating basis. Come to STS one week and then to one of the others on another week. The full schedule can be seen here. There are commemorative stitch markers and project bags. Make sure to get yours! Fun to be had by all and not to mention a gorgeous shawl. We can't wait to see what you choose for your project.

The co-editor of I Knit New York Magazine, Kathleen Dames will be joining us in Studio to talk about how this magazine came to life in her and Alice O’Reilly, of Backyard Fiberworks minds and plans for the future. Kathleen designed 3 of the patterns, Manhattanhenge, Opal Clock and the 42nd & Lex cardigan. Come talk with her about them and get your magazine signed.
Socks. A fun, easy to travel with, project but single sock syndrome is real! Learn how to make 2 socks at the same time on a circular needle. Students will learn how to cast on two socks, to be worked cuff down simultaneously on a long circular needle. This technique could also be applied to mitts or sleeves. Students will leave with cuffs and partial sock legs that they can continue to knit,
using a pattern distributed in class.
So we can get our New Year's party on, The Studio will be closed on New Years Eve. So come in on Saturday, 12/30 and get all you supplies so you will be all set for the brunches, football games and binge watching we will all be doing on New Years Day!
